Soon we will open our doors
Yes, its been over a month. Can't believe how the time has flown. We've been gone for 3 weeks and then had a week of recovery. I think that looking back over the whole summer there has only been 2 weeks when we were home and didn't have company. I do love summer. Camille got to go to Gram & Gramps. Lucas went to Grandma & Grandpa's. Madeline went to church camp. Not that we thought that Madeline needed more church than everyone else. It all worked out. Todd & I went a calling on customers from Austin to Houston and back thru Ft. Worth. I decided that it was too much work eating with every customer that we saw. Camille had tons of fun with the fam & especially cousin Emma. Lucas & Grandpa(who are practically the same age) enjoyed their time. Todd & I headed that way, made the "grandparent" rounds with a hop to Silver Dollar City in between. Love the rolling Ozarks. Don't miss it so much when we are home in Texas but when we are there it is so beautiful. Left Gram's house for a trip to Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico to see how we like it during the summer time. I have never considered myself an outdoors person but I guess when one is use to 100 degree temperatures and you go to a place where the low is 48 and the high is 80,being an outdoors person isn't so bad. River rafting(with a guide from Aurora, MO), horseback riding, and hiking. Favorite was the river rafting. I need to order the pictures from it. A beautiful break from the heat along with a beautiful serene place to be. Yes, we do like Taos in the summer. Trip ended abruptly when both Mad & Lucas got sick one night. Didn't know if it was a bug or a bug accentuated by the altitude after a huge hike that day(one in which Camille & I declined to go on). There's always an advantage for me to having a younger child around. During all this time, it truly felt like a refreshing break of vacation. Now that we are back home, got our things unpacked, hung some pictures on the bedroom walls, did a little painting, scrubbed on the pool, I think its almost time to go back on the foster care list. Kids have physicals & ortho appointments next week. Everyone should be good on back to school clothes and shoes. Yes, we are rested and ready to do God's will. It can most easily be illustrated when the girls & I are saying our nightly prayers. I ask God to please be with the kids that will be coming to live with us soon and Camille does the old fist pump into the air as a sign of celebration. Soon, we will open our doors.
